New mechanistic insight into ceria based catalysts

Our recent operando spectroscopic work on ceria based catalysts provides a detailed understanding of the mode of operation of ceria-based catalysts.

Based on a dynamic operando Raman approach the real-time characterization of working catalysts is feasible, as illustrated for the room temperature CO oxidation over ceria supported gold catalysts, published in J. Phys. Chem C, which is of great interest from a fundamental point of view, as well as the low temperature NOx storage in ceria, published in Appl. Catal. B, which is of relevance for technical applications in the context of passive NOx adsorbers (PNAs).
