Particle Charge Detector (PCD)
Paper Chemistry and Analytics

The PCD measures the surface charge of dissolved or dispersed colloidal substances by polyelectrolyte titration. It is used to characterize the charge density of additives, detects anionic trash in process samples, and together with the Zeta Potential Measurement it is a useful tool, for understanding the interaction of fibers, charged additives and filler particles, respectively.

Manufacturer: Mütek & Metrohm (Dosimat 665)

Type: PCD 03-pH

Polyelectrolytes:

  • anionic: Sodium Polyethylene Sulfonate (Na-PES)
  • cationic: Polydiallyldimethylammonium chloride (polyDADMAC)
