Doctor examinations for Florian Neuberger and Torben Schmidt

The new semester starts for AK Schäfer right away with a highlight, the defense of two PhD theses one right after the other.

Torben Schmidt started the morning with his disputation entitled “Preparation and investigation of SiO2 ultrathin films as cluster support material”.

Florian Neuberger then defended his work, “Oxide-supported small platinum clusters and their interaction with water”.

Both works were done in cluster catalysis and have a significant impact on the current versatility of cluster deposition and analysis in this research area.
