PRE XII in Clearwater Beach
2025/06/01
The 12th Polymer Reaction Engineering Conference (PRE XII) took place in Clearwater Beach (Florida, USA) from June 1 to 6, 2025.

The conference, which takes place every three years in North or Central America, brings together the majority of the world's research groups in the field of polymer reaction technology to discuss their current progress and the latest findings. The simultaneous participation of representatives from industry builds a bridge to large-scale applications and offers participants a broad spectrum of contributions from science and industry. During the breaks and the poster session, participants had the opportunity for a lively exchange and technical discussions.
The working group Busch was represented at the conference with five posters and one presentation:
- Modeling Molecular Weight Distributions by Coupling CFD and Monte-Carlo Simulations in the High-Pressure Polymerization of Ethene, Emil Schwarz, Pauline Schlereth, Alina Shala, Markus Busch (poster)
- Application of a Reactor Cascade Model for the Investigation of the Oxygen Kinetics in the High-Pressure Polymerization of Ethene, Joshua Stahl, Lorenz Schmidt, Markus Busch (poster)
- Zone-Specific Effects on LDPE Production in a High-Pressure Multizone Autoclave, Christoph Weigel, Alina Weber, Nicola Schreiner, Markus Busch (poster)
- Modeling Assisted Mini-Plant Tool for Kinetic Evaluations of Catalytic Solution Polymerizations, Phillip Weigmann, Isabel Kronshorst, Joy Cheng¹, Vasileios Touloupidis¹, Markus Busch (poster)
- Vinyl Acetate Polymerization over a Broad Temperature and Pressure Range – Experiments and Modeling, Kristina Zentel, Johanna Viernickel, Sandra Pietrasch, Felix Warnecke², Timo Melchin² (lecture)
