Research stay at Queen´s University, Kingston, Kanada
2025/10/01
From August to October 2025, Kristina Zentel completed a three-month research stay at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada. The focus lied on the scientific work conducted in the research groups of Prof. Michael Cunningham and Prof. Robin Hutchinson.
Kristina worked on the development of a kinetic model for emulsion polymerizations, employing random-block copolymers as stabilizers. The work centered on a model-based description of the underlying reaction mechanisms and the interplay between polymerization kinetics and colloidal stability.
Further collaboration took place within the research group of Prof. Robin Hutchinson. The focus was laid on the experimental determination of kinetic parameters in aqueous polymerization systems as a basis for accurate kinetic modelling.
The research stay was funded by the mobility program of TU Darmstadt.
