Since 1.6. Antonia and Sascha joined the Franken Catalysis Group
On june the 1st Antonia and Sascha joined our Group. Antonia Dirr did her master thesis already with us and continues now for her PhD. In her work she will focus on catalysts for selective oxidation reactions. On the same day our new Lab Technician Sascha Engeldrum started his work. He will be a central part of our group and will take over the knowldege and responsibilities for all our devices and infrastructure. We are happy to have you with us and wish you a great start!

Danny Stark wins Posterprize at Annual Meeting on Reaction Engineering

Congratulations to Danny!
The annual Meeting on Reaction engineering took place from 26th until 28th of May in Würzburg. Danny Stark and Mareike Biermann attended the conference and got new impressions and a lot of new ideas for their research. As the crowning glory, Danny's poster on his work on Fe/Mo-containing ethanol ODH catalysts was honored with a poster prize.

Dennis presents his work at 100 years of Fischer-Tropsch-Symposium

The patent of the Fischer-Tropsch Technology had its 100. anniverary. This was celebrated in Mühlheim with a three day Symposium. Here Dennis could present his work on Catalysts for CO2 utilization.

Inaugural Lecture of Prof. Dr. Tanja Franken

Yesterday Tanja Franken gave her inaugural lecture at Technische Universität Darmstadt. She really enjoyed presenting our current research work and the future direction of the Chair of Technical Chemistry 1 (Franken Catalysis Group) to a full house. Many thanks to everyone who came and spent the evening with me over pizza and inspiring conversations.

Annual Spring Hike of the TC Research Groups

This year’s spring hike (“Blütenwanderung”) of the technical chemistry research groups of TU Darmstadt took place on April 24th at the Hessian Bergstraße. The group hiked from Heppenheim through the Odenwald to the Fürstenlager in Bensheim-Auerbach.

Advanced Design Project 2025

In this year's Advanced Design Project, the students designed a methanol steam reforming plant for hydrogen production from March 3 to 14, 2025. The topic was provided in cooperation with the company Evonik, which subsequently enabled the students to visit their site in Marl on March 18.
