The day care centre is unexpectedly closed, the day care worker is ill, grandma and grandpa are away. Many parents know this situation. Then the question arises: Who will look after the child while you yourself have to take care of urgent professional tasks? One solution may be to take the child with you to the workplace as an exception. The Kids Box offers practical support on site. It is rolled into the workplace and turns it into a “parent-child room” in no time at all.
The Collaborative Research Centre SFB 1487 “Iron, upgraded!” has purchased such Kids Boxes and made them available in three different buildings of the Department of Chemistry at the TU Lichtwiese in order to create a better reconciliation of work and family life.
Use of the Kids Boxes is open to all those working in the buildings with small children who have an office workstation, although SFB affiliates will be prioritised in the event of bottlenecks.
To use the Kids Box, please approach the respective contact person. A prerequisite for use is that you sign a form in which you confirm that you have read the information provided and agree to the rules of use.
