CRC 1487 represented at the 56th Annual Meeting of German Catalysts

2023/03/28

The 56th annually meeting of the German Catalysis Society took place from March 15th to 17th 2023 in Weimar. Several members of the CRC 1487 (project leaders and PhD students) attended this event which is famous for the broad range of catalysis research in Germany and the world. In this year, the meeting offered the CRC members to get in touch with different fields in catalysis like biocatalysis, electrochemical catalysis or catalysts for polymers. Besides multiple sessions, posters can be presented during the conference days.

The CRC 1487 “Iron, upgraded!” attended with two posters from the group of Ulrike Kramm one poster each from Marcus Rose's and Christian Hess's groups. On the basis of their posters, the PhD students Lingmei Ni and Nicole Segura Salas (both B08), Hannah Lamers (C05) and Jan Welzenbach (A02) answered questions on the respective research topics of the CRC and received new impulses. The poster of subproject A02 was even presented during a poster workshop about advanced characterization.

From every subgroup of the CRC great results of the interesting projects were presented:

  • Lingmei Ni: Operando 57Fe Mössbauer Spectroscopy of Fe-N-C catalysts during oxygen reduction reaction
  • Nicole Segura Salas: Improving CO2RR activity of FeNC catalysts by metal nanoparticle doping
  • Hannah Lamers: Supported Iron Nanoparticles as sustainable Catalysts for the selective Acetylene Hydrogenation under industrial Front-End Conditions
  • Jan Welzenbach: Structural Dynamics of Iron Molybdate Catalysts for Oxidative Dehydrogenation studied by In-situ and Operando Spectroscopy

The traditional welcome party rounded off the meeting and was a recommendable opportunity to make contacts and meet interesting people.
