Iron, Upgraded!

Since January 2022, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) is funding a new Collaborative Research Center at the Technical University of Darmstadt, in collaboration with five other universities/institutes. The Schäfer group participates in this collaborative research center with the project “C07: Influence of Tetrel Atoms as Ligands”.

The influences of different cluster species on the optical, magnetic and redox behavior of iron will be investigated. Mainly the VUV-spectroscopy and the molecular deflection are working on this project, but also the other parts of the working group are supporting the project. First results, as well as the further project of the next 12 months can be seen in the following poster.
