Outstanding US scientist visits TU Darmstadt

Prize of the Emanuel Merck Lectureship 2024 honours Prof. Dr. Craig M. Crews

Craig M. Crews, Professor of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, Chemistry and Pharmacology at Yale University, USA, will be honored on May 13th at the TU Darmstadt for his internationally groundbreaking research – he will receive the prestigious Emanuel Merck Lectureship award.

Professor Crews will give a lecture entitled “PROTACs and Targeted Protein Degradation: A new therapeutic modality” as part of the public ceremony. In another public event on May 15th, Craig will discuss at the Lichtwiese campus with students.

The Emanuel Merck Lectureship is a joint prize jointly awarded since 1992 by the company Merck KGaA and the Technical University of Darmstadt. It honors internationally renowned scientists who have made outstanding contributions to chemical and pharmaceutical research. Since 1993 until the present day the award has been granted to 17 eminent scientists from all over the world, from which four have received the Nobel Prize.
