WPPRE 2019 in Hamburg

2019/06/15

From June 15-16, 2019, the 8th EFCE Doctoral Workshop for Polymer Reaction Engineering took place in Hamburg, organized by the research group professor Busch.

Participants of the WPPRE 2019 in Hamburg.

The WPPRE provides a framework for young scientists in the field of polymer reaction engineering to exchange ideas and information. The 47 participants presented their research results in 18 lectures and 25 poster presentations. In addition, the workshop enabled the participants to meet industry representatives from various companies and to make new contacts. Among others, lectures by industry representatives were given by two former members of professor Busch's working group. Sebastian Fries represented the company Novolen and David Eckes the company Evonik.

This year, in addition to Professor Busch, Elisabeth Schulz (organisation and poster), Jana Sartorius (lecture and poster), Isabel Kronshorst (lecture and poster) and Paul Peikert (organisation, lecture and poster), whose lecture was awarded the Wiley Prize for the best contribution, took part.

  • Jana Sartorius, M.Sc.: „Kinetic measurements by calorimetry and high-pressure: Decomposition of peroxides depending on solvent and pressure“ (lecture and poster)
  • Paul Peikert, M.Sc.: „Predicting the Branching Structure as well as the Radius of Gyration of LDPE-Homo- and Co-Polymers by Stochastic Modeling“ (lecture and poster)
  • Isabel Kronshorst, M.Sc.: „Implementation of Hydrogen-Injection into a LLDPE-MiniPlant “ (lecture and poster)
  • Elisabeth Schulz, M.Sc.: „Refractive Index Increments of EVA-Copolymers“ (poster)
