The virtual AIChE Annual Meeting took place from 16 to 20 November 2020. The annual conference organized by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) focuses on innovations in chemical engineering.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's conference was held virtually. Prof. Busch gave a lecture in the session “Polymer Synthesis and Reaction Engineering”. This was previously recorded so that participants from different time zones could have access to it at any time. Maria Dernbach presented an online poster in the session “Materials Engineering & Science (Polymers)”. Questions about the presentations and posters could be asked via an integrated chat function or during assigned time slots. Other opportunities to make new contacts and get information about current products and technologies were the networking sessions and the online exhibition hall.
