Annual Meeting on Reaction Engineering

2022/07/18

From July 18th to 20th, the annual meeting on Reaction Engineering was held together with the ProcessNet Subject Division Heat and Mass Transfer at the Congress Center Würzburg.

One focus of this year's conference was the interaction between reaction kinetics and heat/mass transfer as an interface between the two subject divisions. This focus was taken up in joint plenary lectures. Other topics include electrification of chemical processes, and diagnostic methods for reactors and heat exchangers. In addition to the presentations, there was time for intensive discussions on the current research topics during a three-hour “poster party”.

Eight PhD students from Professor Busch's research group participated in the annual meeting with the following contributions:

  • Influence of the Process Parameters on the Boundary Layer in LDPE Mini-Plant Tubular Reactors, Jonas Degenkolb, Markus Busch (Poster)
  • Modeling Mixing Processes in LDPE-Reactors by Computational Fluid Dynamics, Lena Gockel, Laura Ständecke, Lorenz Schmidt, Markus Busch (Poster)
  • Adapting Analysing Method for a High-Pressure FT-NIR-Spectroscopy System, Sascha Hintenlang, Markus Busch (Poster)
  • Modeling High-Pressure Ethylene Copolymerizations – Depiction of Topologies, Julian Kirsch, Alina Weber, Markus Busch (Poster)
  • Group Contribution Method for Transfer Activity in the LDPE Process, Alexander Klimeck, Jarne Berning, Markus Busch (Poster)
  • Semi-Batch Solution Polymerization Mini-Plant: A Tool for Estimating Kinetic Parameters, Isabel Kronshorst, Laura Ständecke, Markus Busch (Poster)
  • High-Pressure Polymerization of Ethylene: First steps Towards the Realization of a Multi-Zone Autoclave on a Laboratory Scale, Nicola Schreiner, Lena Gockel, Markus Busch (Poster)
  • Applications for the Determination of Back-Mixing Characteristics of Mini-Plant Polymerization Reactors, Laura Ständecke, Lena Gockel, Laura Dietrich, Markus Busch (Poster)
