B07
In Situ and Multi-frequency EPR for FeNC Materials and Model Complexes

About

Project B07 uses advanced EPR methods to investigate iron in iron-nitrogen-carbon (FeNC) materials for electrochemical O2 and CO2 reduction reactions during synthesis, storage and electrode operation. Spectroelectrochemical EPR investigates the role of isolated and magnetically coupled iron sites during catalysis. Studies in mono and multinuclear Fe model complexes and the blocking of Fe sites and reaction pathways by (isotope-labelled) N2O, CO or NO characterize Fe sites towards their coordination and electronic structure.
