Training of first aiders
2025/02/18

20 employees of the Ernst Berl Institute took part in first aid training on February 18, 2025. They learned about the rescue chain and who takes what action at what point. The first step is to get an overview of what has happened, secure the accident site, remove people from the danger zone if necessary and not to neglect personal protection. The emergency call is then made to 112 (optionally 911, in English) and first aid measures are started. The speaker described various medical emergency scenarios with their symptoms and explained what first aiders can do. The legal aspects of what to do and what not to do were also discussed. The application of various bandages was demonstrated, as was the use of the defibrillator. Of course, the recovery position and cardiopulmonary resuscitation were also practiced. An instructive day came to an end with a quiz in which the symptoms of an emergency had to be recognized.
