Summer School 2023

At the annual Summer School the participants received intensive training in the field of high-pressure technology over the course of two weeks. The event which was organized by Professor Thomas Gamse (TU Graz) took place this year in Graz.

With 33 participants from 15 different European universities, the focus of the event was on the international exchange. In a variety of technical lectures, different applications and backgrounds regarding high-pressure technology were taught to the participants. Amongst the 22 lecturers from 10 european countries, Professor Markus Busch held the two lectures, „Kinetics of High Pressure Chemical Reactions Including Benefits” and “Application of Pressure and SCF Technology in a World Scale Process”. Apart from that, all participants presented their research topic in a short talk, followed by a discussion round.

During the Summer School, the company NATEX Prozesstechnologie GmbH was visited. This gave the participants the opportunity to get an impression of the industrial applications and the scale-up of high-pressure extraction equipment. The laboratories of the Graz and Maribor universities, as well as the company INNOWELD-Metallverarbeitung GmbH, which specializes in the construction of high-pressure equipment on industrial scale, were visited as well.

In addition to the lecture program, the summer school offered the participants the ideal opportunity to connect and socialize with each other during common leisure activities.
