On October 22, 2019, 26 students and PhD students visited the fair K in Düsseldorf together with Prof. Busch, where 3300 exhibitors from all over the world presented the latest developments in the plastics and rubber industry.

On October 21, 2019 Sebastian Fries successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled “Modelling of Fouling Mechanisms in the LDPE Synthesis”.

From 26 to 30 August the Summer School of the IMPRS (International Max Planck Research School) took place in Magdeburg. This event brings together doctoral students working in the fields of applied mathematics, chemical engineering and bioprocess engineering.

On August 16, 2019, the Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberghaus hosted the fifteenth summer festival of technical chemistry with the award of the Ernst-Berl Prize.

After last year's victory, this year the working group of professor Busch was responsible for organising the annual football tournament on 7 August. Together with members of the workshop, the team reached the semi-finals, where it was narrowly defeated by the working group of professor Albert.

The graduation ceremony of the chemistry department took place on 03.07.2019. From the working group of Prof. Busch, Jana Sartorius, Sascha Hintenlang, Isabel Kronshorst and Jonas Degenkolb were awarded the Master's degree and Laura Euler Bueno the Bachelor's degree.

From 25-28 June, 18 doctoral and master students and research assistants flew to Sweden together with Professor Busch and Ursula Post. This year's seminar week was hosted by the Borealis company, which invited the research group to its industrial site in Stenungsund.

The 14th LDPE Plant Improvement Conference organised by the UHDE took place in Gdansk (Poland) from 17-19 June 2019. The annual conference deals with various topics related to the construction and operation of an LDPE high pressure plant.

From June 15-16, 2019, the 8th EFCE Doctoral Workshop for Polymer Reaction Engineering took place in Hamburg, organized by the research group professor Busch.

From June 11-14, 2019, the 13th Conference for Polymer Reaction Engineering (PRE) of Dechema took place in Hamburg.
